The categories in the 2010 Business & Finance Awards listed below are open to organisations and individuals across all sectors.

• Promoting the next generation of business, Business & Finance are introducing a new award category ‘Enterprise of the Year Award'. Nominees should be viewed as indigenous SME/fast growth enterprises of ten years or less trading locally and/or internationally which demonstrates innovative conceptand vision, has achieved market share and commercial success and displays a potential for sustainable growth.

• In the prestigious 'Company of the Year Award' , who’s past recipients include Ryanair, Intel, Kerry Group, Microsoft, Wyeth, United Drug, Airtricity, Elan to name a few, the process will now facilitate self nomination of companies who believe they are eligible. Nominees should be locally or internationally owned, established five years + and operate in local and international markets. The Company of the Year Award will recognise the company which best demonstrates outstanding business leadership, sustainable growth, innovative strategy, strong financial returns and employee development.

• As before, we will canvass the CEO’s of Irelands top1000 companies for their nominations for the 'Business Person of the Year Award'. This award recognises an individual who has demonstrated an outstanding level of achievement across his/her recent career over the past year. Previous recipients of this unique and prestigious award include, Jim O’Hara, Denis O’Brien, Michael Smurfit, Peter Sutherland, Niall FitzGerald, Tony Ryan and Tony O’Reilly to name a few.
